About
Living from your IDEALS is a choice away.
When I was a child growing up in a less than ideal situation, I was blessed enough to have people in my life who held me to a standard. Most of these people were not family. Some were family friends who saw what I was going through. Some were strangers that popped in like angels to keep me on course. And then, there were book that ministered to me and helped to see that the world was vastly larger than what was around me. Then, through the process of positive and negative feedback, I was able to hone in on the internal commitments I needed to make to myself in order to look myself in the mirror and honestly say that I am doing the best I can with what I have. Those commitments are what I call my IDEALS:
Integrity – the quality of being honest, having strong moral principles, and adhering to a code of ethics. It involves consistency between one’s words, actions, and values, and maintaining a sense of uprightness and transparency in all aspects of life.
Dedication – the act of being committed, devoted, and wholeheartedly focused on a particular task, goal, or cause. It involves giving consistent time, effort, and energy to achieve desired outcomes, often demonstrating perseverance and a strong work ethic.
Equity – refers to fairness and impartiality in the distribution of resources, opportunities, and treatment among individuals or groups. It seeks to ensure that everyone has equal access to the benefits and advantages available, taking into account different needs, backgrounds, and circumstances to promote justice and inclusion.
Appreciation – the recognition and acknowledgment of the value, significance, or qualities of someone or something. It involves expressing gratitude, admiration, or a positive evaluation for the actions, characteristics, or contributions of others, thereby fostering a sense of respect, encouragement, and positivity.
Love – involves nurturing and supporting others, showing kindness, empathy, and understanding, and often plays a central role in personal relationships, promoting a sense of unity and well-being.
Service – the act of providing assistance, support, or aid to others with the intention of fulfilling their needs and improving their circumstances. It involves actively engaging in activities that benefit individuals, organizations, or the community at large.
I sympathize with how the challenges of trying to live into your IDEALS, while being pulled by seemingly infinite distractions, can feel daunting. And I know that, until we make the choice to live congruently with our professed IDEALS, nothing on earth will make us feel as if we BELONG.
The strengths that I have cultivated that I can employ to serve you in living from your IDEALS include but are not limited to a deep understanding of:
Human Motivation (Narrative Enneagram Certification pending)
Relational Dynamics
Narrative Structure
Creative Capacity Building
Coaching and Training
This Substack is born out of my commitment to these IDEALS. Everything I write is endowed with an ever-expanding lifetime of contemplation and application. My hope is that in being fully me, you will receive my content as an invitation to be fully you as well.
