People Don’t Know What to Believe or Do They?
One of the biggest lies that we tell ourselves is “I don’t know what to believe.” But, I hear people say it all of the time. However, from my perspective, more accurate statements are, “I don’t want to be wrong.”; “I don’t want to experience the consequences of my choices.”; “I don’t want to be held to the same standards that I project onto others.” or some variation of trying to get out of the responsibility of making a decision and having to accept the results.
Of course, there are a lot of reasons why people might disagree with this assertion. I imagine this is largely because with so much information coming at us from so many directions, telling ourselves that we don’t know what to believe does seem viable. When everyone is saying that they are telling the truth, how can you know who is lying, right? Believe me, I get the apparent conundrum.
